Winter will soon be here and we need to remember that students will
need to bring some winter apparel. The students will be having recess
outside when we can. The students will need boats, snow pants, gloves,
and hats. They get pretty wet and messy when the snow is slushy and
when they leave snow on their clothes. We try to hang clothes up but
that doesn’t always work, so we do suggest that you send an extra pair
of socks so that if their socks get wet they have something else to wear.
Many times during the winter the students wear their boots to school and
forget their tennis shoes or the shoes they wear inside. It is a good habit
to make sure that they have both boots, and shoes for school. We do
give out hats and mittens when kids forget them at home, we don’t ask
for the hats back, however we do run out. We have many of the students
loose their mittens and hats during the school day; the lost and found
boxes are around the school so if you find your mittens or hat missing, it
may be in the lost and found. We want all kids to have fun outside during
our winter season, but we are careful to watch for cold weather and will
call indoor recesses when we feel that it is too cold outside.
