I hope everyone has gotten a chance to see the Cherokee Chronicle Times of Wednesday, Nov. 15th. There are some wonderful pictures of the students of Roosevelt as they observed Veteran’s Day. We had the privilege to have our own Veteran’s Color Guard there at Roosevelt to raise our flag and to show the students of Roosevelt their dedication to our nation. We also had a great speaker, Karlos Kirby. His program was very informative and inspiring to our students and our staff. Mrs. Zylstra had prepared the students in some of the finest singing that I have heard this year from our students. The sounds of these young voices singing of their high regard for our nation’s veterans was so heartfelt, I am not sure there were many dry eyes in any of the adults that attended.
I was amazed and filled with hope that our students do truly know the meaning of what a good citizen of the United States of America is, and that they are aware of the many sacrifices that have been made for them.
